SoundScout Ltd (“SoundScout”, “we”, “us” or “our”) respects intellectual property rights and expects users to do the same.
This Copyright Policy explains how rights holders can report content they believe infringes their rights, including copyright complaints and DMCA-style takedown requests.

1. User responsibility
Users are responsible for the content they upload or submit to SoundScout.
You must only upload music, artwork, images, names, text, samples, beats, vocals, recordings, comments, tags, and other material that you own or have permission to use.
Do not upload content that infringes someone else's copyright, neighbouring rights, performer rights, publishing rights, master recording rights, trademark rights, privacy rights, image rights or other legal rights.
2. Artist uploads
If you upload music to SoundScout, you confirm that:
- You own the content or have permission to use it
- You have the rights needed to upload and share the preview on SoundScout
- Your upload does not infringe third-party rights
- Any samples, beats, vocals, artwork or other third-party elements are properly cleared
- You are not violating any agreement with a label, distributor, publisher, collaborator, producer, manager or other rights holder
3. Reporting copyright infringement
If you believe content on SoundScout infringes your copyright or other rights, email us at: support@soundscoutmusic.com
Please include:
- Your full name
- Your email address
- Your relationship to the rights holder
- A description of the copyrighted work or rights you believe have been infringed
- A link or clear description of the SoundScout content you are reporting
- Evidence that you own or control the relevant rights, where available
- A statement that you believe in good faith that the use is not authorised by the rights holder, its agent or the law
- A statement that the information in your notice is accurate
- Your physical or electronic signature, which may be your typed full name
4. DMCA-style notices
If you are submitting a DMCA-style notice, please include the information listed above.
Although SoundScout Ltd is based in the United Kingdom, we may use a DMCA-style process to help handle copyright complaints clearly and fairly.
Submitting false, misleading or bad-faith notices may have legal consequences.
5. What we may do after receiving a report
After receiving a copyright or rights complaint, we may:
- Review the reported content
- Ask for more information
- Remove or restrict access to the content
- Notify the uploader
- Give the uploader an opportunity to respond where appropriate
- Suspend or terminate repeat infringer accounts
- Keep records of the complaint
- Take any other action we consider appropriate
6. Counter-notices
If your content was removed or restricted and you believe this was a mistake, you may contact us at: support@soundscoutmusic.com
Your counter-notice should include:
- Your full name
- Your email address
- Identification of the removed or restricted content
- An explanation of why you believe the complaint was mistaken
- Evidence that you own or have permission to use the content, where available
- A statement that the information in your counter-notice is accurate
- Your physical or electronic signature, which may be your typed full name
We may review the matter but are not required to restore content if we believe it creates legal risk or breaches our Terms of Service.
7. Repeat infringement
SoundScout may suspend or terminate accounts that repeatedly upload infringing content or receive credible infringement complaints.
8. No legal determination
SoundScout may remove or restrict content to reduce risk, protect rights holders or enforce our Terms. This does not mean SoundScout has made a final legal determination about ownership or infringement.
